I was out of the area this weekend visiting family in Suffolk. While I was there I briefly saw the regular local Barn Owl quartering the rough field behind their house in Boxford on Saturday evening. I grabbed a couple of shots but the light was very poor, hence the ISO grain, but more importantly it was a real treat to see this beautiful & charismatic creature going about it's business at pretty close range. Unfortunately, the field where this bird regularly hunts has plans to become a housing development, so this bird will have to make use of the rest of its territory instead. Hopefully I'll be able to return to take some better photos before this small piece of ideal habitat is destroyed.
